Do you know what a Puff back is?

Here is a photo of the classic webs left behind after a puff back.

"Puff back" is a term used to describe what happens when built up oil ignites in a furnace, resulting in an explosion.  The soot and other debris from the explosion can easily be carried throughout a home by the exhaust and heating systems.  This means that potentially every room of a house can be damaged.  Puff backs are characterized by the oily, black soot left behind, often appearing like spider webs.  The residue from a puff back usually requires extensive cleaning and restoration services offered by SERVPRO of Chambersburg.
