Grilling, mowing lawns, and sitting around the fire pit may all be on the list of things you may have planned for this summer. Our team put together a few tips to help avoid any of these activities causing a fire.

  • Grilling
    • Never leave the grill unattended.
    • Make sure the grill is clean and there is no grease built up.
    • Keep a fire extinguisher near by.
    • Make sure the grill is placed away from your home or any other structures.
    • Ensure you are properly igniting the grill.
  • Mowing Lawns
    • Never put a tarp over a mower that was just recently used.
    • Ensure the mower is not leaking any oil or gas if placed in a garage.
    • Avoid mowing when it is dry and windy, sparks from your mower can start a fire.
    • Do not over fill your gas tank.
  • Fire Pits
    • Keep a fire extinguisher on site just incase.
    • Keep the fire pit at least 10 feet away from any structures as well as trees.
    • Never leave the fire pit unattended.
